I have a question. Maybe this is not the place, but at first I want to keep it at the STM32 family, but it is possibly broader.
The system Architecture for ChibiOS is something like: RTOS
This means that I could develop a driver and filesystem feature, but most of them are implemented in HAL?
Oke now I want to use an Waveshare SD board and this hardware has its own code and drivers.
What is the best way to port this to ChibiOS? With Microchip we ported Arduino libraries in C, but that was with no Architecture like RTOS.
The power can be that, when solutions are ported in ChibiOS, that the hardware can be used without having to deal with the Hardware Lock.
What do you think?

Re: Porting libraries
ChibiOS is designed to make application mostly portable across different MCUs with similar specs. Differences are mostly in the MCU initialization.

Re: Porting libraries
The Waveshare SD board you mention is just an sd card connector, no fancy electronics, just wiring. Chibios already has in the HAL an SD card driver which must works out of the box with your SD board.

I have it all working. I thought sharing it, although I am the learning one here
